NORTON / / / / / /

This is a great album. I have listened to it non stop and I’m amzed at the quality of unknown music out there. I stumbled across this site by accident one day searching for something, of course I don’t remember what I was searching for, I’m nerdy I’m always googling something.

But anyways one day I come across this site and couldn’t help but to start downloading the tracks…they were free, who wouldn’t. Then I played one and was in amazement. This was some good tuneage. Music, Fresh, and new, and sounded like nothing I had heard before. A real pleasure. Relaxing, subtle, mellow and ambient with some very unusual Melody’s and rhythms.

A must hearn and from a guy just learning to DJ, every new sound opens your eyes and mind to new and exciting ideas, be open and try something outside your BOX. ~Peilo

Samantha Tobey’s Biography – Last.fm

Samantha Tobey’s Biography

Samantha Tobey

Samantha Tobey’s music is introspective, haunting and melodic. With a background in jazz, her vocals are strong and her writing is complex. Tobey is a Los Angeles native and has been playing out for a couple of years. She is currently working on her first album, though she has written enough material to fill three full length albums.

She has just completed her tour of the southwest and heads to the pacific northwest in October. She also has a band for children called the SqueeGee’s for the entire family!! Tobey is known for her enchanting energy, soulful performances, not to mention her quirky and adorable sense of humor. Definately one to watch! visit The SqueeGee’s at http://www.meetthesqueegees.com Singer/songwriter

Samantha Tobey’s voice cuts through L.A.’s smog like a burst of fresh air. She’s Hollywood’s idea of a hometown heroine, born and raised under the stars (her grandmother was a song and dance girl as well), with an uncanny knack for contemplating the beauty and sadness of it all.

Samantha’s rising star comes after years of building a loyal fan base in SoCal with a ton of memorable gigs (The Viper Room, The Mint, The Derby, The Cat Club, Alterknit Lounge, and many others.) Her sultry, angelic voice has brought comparisons to Tori Amos, Sarah McLaughlin and Jenny Lewis . (think what stream-of-consciousness heartbreak sounds like coming from a wide-eyed child).

With her haunting melodies and cutting lyrics, Samantha is poised to reach the next step of her career with her first EP entitled Fall Like the Leaves, which includes “Rocks and Stones,” “11 Shades of Red,” and “12 O’Clock.” Her vocal range runs the gamut — from quiet and moody to shameless and kick-ass. Samantha’s music shimmers with promises of hope and heart, of love lost and won again, of fleeting glimpses at a better tomorrow. It plays with our familiar (and familial) collection of stories. It teases the potency of a Forgotten Dreamworld. It’s acoustic raw emotion, charged with soul and tempered by loss.

The immediacy and intimacy of Samantha Tobey’s songs reminds us all to face those ghosts And maybe, just maybe, they’re not so scary with her at your side. “Samantha’s artistry is a breath of fresh air wonderful tunes with a beautiful voice Her material sparkles with good nature, soft unspoken charm and outright talent!” – Ann O’Leary, “Music Connection”
